For historical reasons zfs_mknode() was written such that it could never fail. This poses a problem for Linux since zfs_znode_alloc() could potentually failure due to low memory. Handle this gracefully by retrying zfs_znode_alloc() until it succeeds, direct reclaim will eventually be able to allocate memory. ZFS is an advanced file system and volume manager which was originally
developed for Solaris and is now maintained by the Illumos community.
ZFS on Linux, which is also known as ZoL, is currently feature complete. It includes fully functional and stable SPA, DMU, ZVOL, and ZPL layers. And it's native!
